We woke to the predicted rubbish weather. There was a strong wind and it was actually a tad chilly. I visited the boulangerie and we had a simple brekky based on bread yoghurt and bananas.
Collette continued with her washing duties but was finished by noon. Doucette was pretty much back together now, I had even cleaned and waxed the wheelhouse floor. Apart from drying laundry we sorted.
I was informed we were going into town for a coffee and rhum baa baa. No argument there so we found ourselves sat in the tea shop watching the world go by and fortunately protected from the breeze it was sunny and very pleasant. Mr frugal felt the baas were a bit steep at £3.50 each but seriously good.
We popped into the tourist office and got an update on the postponed Bastille fireworks over the chateau. Postponed due to bad weather, we were staying here til Monday. spotted a notice about tony and my little cafe bar we liked. There was some sort of event tonight between 6.30 and 8.30. Nice one.
Strolled back to the boat via more casual shopping and exploring. Weather was now showery. 7pm we strolled down to the cafe. On entry it was filled with men. We sat and ordered drinks. Nothing much going on except that each table had what looked like bingo tickets in a box. A chap came in and picked one up, wrote on it and went through to the back where there was a tv with a bingo type grid on it with numbers coming up like a lottery draw. Assumed this was the attraction and was pleased when another couple came and took a table. Not sure Collette was too impressed but we had another couple of drinks before retiring to Doucette.
Neither of us were feeling the rhum ba bas had gone down too well but I was ready for my dinner. We had treated ourselves to two big fillet steaks. Yes 2 nights on the bounce for this carnivore but what the hell. Collette had made a cauliflower and chorizo cheese which we had popped in the oven earlier.
The steak was like butter and the cauliflower cheese just exceptional. Nice one honey! We finished off the merlot and retired blissfully content.
