Monday 11th June Charleville Meziers

We awoke to a miserable day. We had slept in the saloon as we were airing and drying our matress and aft cabin. The boat was smothered with still damp clothes so a day of heaters on to assist drying decided on another day here. We had a lazy morning staying in bed and watching a really old agatha christie movie. By lunchtime We had enjoyed lovely hot showers and following the remains of the rice for lunch, We were ready to stroll into town for some shopping. We found a store called price leader a sort of aldi competitor. Got too much stuff and struggled to carry them back. Not good for my very troublesome shoulder which is becoming a real pain. You need good shoulders on a boat! Collette is oblivious to the fact that the andoulettes I bought are duck tripe sausages. Will report on events when we try them.

Had a look around the town again. Place ducale is really very special.

We got back in time to settle down with ice cold beers to watch England v France in the euros. Good performance and a decent 1-1draw. Satisfied, I cobbed a corn fed chicken 6€ this time but very nice washed down with Mediterranean cous cous and the obligatory bottle of merlot to celebrate our good start to the tournament.
